Teddy Howe Set For Blackpool

Reading look set to lose the services of youngster full back Teddy Howe, with Blackpool looking to complete a permanent signing of the player today before the transfer window closes. Howe's last appearance for the Royals was the 1-1 FA Cup Fourth round draw with Cardiff City. Howe looked good against Cardiff - both defensively and getting forward and it will be a real shame to lose such a talent so early in his career.

Twenty one year old Howe made his Reading debut in the last few minutes of the 2018/2019 season, coming on with 89 minutes on the clock during the 0-0 home Championship draw with Birmingham City. This season he has been restricted to cup appearances, playing five times in the League Cup and FA Cup. Howe played the full 90 minutes in both games against Blackpool in the FA Cup as Reading went on to progress with a 2-0 away win after a 2-2 draw at the Madejski. Blackpool got to see plenty of Howe over the two games and he obviously impressed.

Joining Blackpool on a permanent basis apparently.

Only see reports of a loan deal, which would make sense.

Although it does seem it’s a permenant, which I’m not convinced by. He’s looked a decent prospect and you wonder whether the next news will be Gunter agreeing a new deal.....

I could live with us signing their big CF who ripped us one in the 2-2 May not be quite good enough in the longer term but would be great right now

Maybe he's not rated that highly behind the scenes. Whatever the reasons, he's clearly not getting any favouritism from his Dad.

Loan is great, perm is daft. We have yet another good prospect who hasn't looked out of his depth, but would be being shipped out without a proper chance. Presumably with Gunter re-signing as a 30 year old who is really only adequate back up, short term, not going to improve, quite negative on the pitch and likely more expensive. Or we're signing someone new, or planning on using Araruna there. The amount of chances we've given Loader in comparison with his rather lack lustre showings is just a bit baffling.

Maybe he's not rated that highly behind the scenes. Whatever the reasons, he's clearly not getting any favouritism from his Dad. Or he wants to get away from any unfair suggestions that he is getting favouritism from his dad, and forge a career somewhere else purely based on his ability.

Teddy Howe has joined Blackpool on a two-and-a-half-year deal. All the best, @Teddyhowee #readingfc confimred
